For those of you who don’t know my story, I knew I was destined for organisation when my favourite game to play as a child was offices! I’d set my desk up on the telephone table in my parents hallway and I’d make lists of my toys and books on a notepad and bark instructions down the phone to my imaginary team. I left college with zero A’levels (a proud moment…🤨) and got my first job as an office junior in a solicitors where I perfected the art of making tea and coffee for 30 people at a time, and spent hours inhaling the glorious fumes of toner whilst photocopying thousands of pages of case files. A few admin roles and a redundancy later, all before the age of 22, I found myself working as a PA for a Sales Manager, who I stayed with, for better or for worse, for SEVENTEEEN YEARS! I returned to that role after Maternity Leave and, as so many other new Moms discover… going back into an uncompromising, patriarchal, corporate business which doesn’t give a shit about parental responsibilities is quite possibly one of the most stressful and upsetting experiences I’ve had. Nothing I’ve dealt with since becoming self-employed (even COVID-19!) has come close to how unhappy I was during that first year back at work. Luckily for me and my sanity, however, that little bundle of loveliness that I created sparked something in me and I knew I had to get out. I began building Tanit as a #sidehustle, spending every spare hour between work out networking, learning how to build a website, working out what I could offer clients, raising my profile on social media…it was tough but when I skipped out of that office at the end of my notice period I was the HAPPIEST I’d been, and when I signed my first client agreement for a 6 hour a week retainer, the early mornings and late nights were all worth it. Fast forward to today and Tanit has become an Admin Support Oasis for executive and lifestyle coaches, and health & wellness businesses (although other businesses are more than welcome 😍). I love working with people who work from the heart and with whom I share values like honestly and integrity. There’s no greater job satisfaction for me than when a client successfully launches a new product, or wins a new client off the back of the work we did together. Essentially I’m here to make you look awesome 😎 |
